Yes, I've been struggling with depression. Mostly, it's a drain on my energy and enthusiasm. But I'm in the recovery phase where I can do things again. Yay me.
I've started playing Lord of the Rings Online, in preparation for Pathfinder Online coming out. I took part in the Kickstarter so I've prepaid for some playtime. We'll see how much fun I find it once play starts. I am enjoying Lord of the Rings, so if Pathfinder is a disappointment, I have a consolation.
I've just registered for Palmetto Tat Days (I had to deal with paying for car issues before I was certain I had the funds). Here's an image of the possible layout of one of the scholarships quilts. I had a problem with my quilt square. I thought I had a teapot square. I wasn't sure of the due date so I put the teapot I tatted as part of display (in the library where our local group, Triangle Tatters, has our meetings). Where it remained for a month. I got it back after the 'please send in your square' date. And then I found out I had a 'flowers and vines' square. I frantically tried to tat something to fit the theme. In the end, I sent in my tatting and the fabric for the block, with abject apologies.
I enjoyed myself at ConTemporal. But I didn't see the non-gaming schedule until I was at the convention. And I didn't get to spend as much time in the dealer's room as I would have liked (but more than my wallet enjoyed). I did get to meet an online friend in person. I don't think I scared her off.
This weekend is Fantasy Gamers' Conclave. It's a very small con but so much fun. The hosts, Knightly Order of the Fiat Lux, run it to benefit charity; specifically the Autism Society of NC. I will be prepping the intro stuff for walk ins (we get a lot of walk ins). C, R, & I have helped run the Pathfinder games at this con for the past 3 years.
On the tatting front, once I'd finished the stuff for the quilt, I was a little burned out. I wanted to wear lace cuffs with my short sleeves for ConTemporal, but circumstances intervened and I wasn't able to wear a costume. Well, there's next year. I have made a couple edgings and a couple bracelets (don't tell, the bracelets are presents).

Rambling Ramble
Last year, a local group (Knight of the Fiat Lux) held a Fantasy Conclave, of gaming and goodness to raise money for the Autism Society. They asked C, R, and myself if we'd be willing to run Pathfinder. We said yes. We ran first level Pathfinder Society adventures, We Be Goblins, and rounds of the Beginner Box Bash. People had fun and they raised money.
So they invited us back this year. We ran We Be Goblins, We Be Goblins, Too; (please Pathfinder, make the sequel called We Be Goblins, Many), Beginner Box again, plus some other low level adventures. We had 3-5 tables at every round and 4-6 players every Beginner Box round. And they raised over $4000. Isn't that cool. We also made it to the auction this year and I picked up Knightmare Chess 2. They run a great con; with pre-ordered, delivered lunches on Saturday.
I've signed up for Palmetto Tat Days, registered for classes and paid. Unfortunately, the tin with my walnut Silent Tatter, Aero shuttle, and partially completed bracelet has gone missing. I had it at work last week but it's not in my bag now. I'm terrified that I've lost it for good.
Contemporal was loads of fun. Chris bought me this fabulous fan, and the same vendor has fan holsters. I bought one and it's great. It holds all but the smallest sandalwood fans and up to the size Chris bought for me (the size of my torso when open). I ended up running two games of Fate Accelerated and a quick Ironclaw adventure. I had left my notes in the car, and didn't realize it until Chris went to get food in it. So we did character generation and I ran them through Squirrel Hunt.
I bought a cute little bolero jacket at the thrift shop but the sleeves were too tight. So I cut a vent from hem to seam, hemmed the raw edges, and added a strip of white grosgrain ribbon at the hem to make them peek-a-boo sleeves. It turned out quite well.
It's been an unusually cool summer so far. Our hottest day has only been 96F (35.5C), which hasn't happened since 2004. There's been a lot of rain. Too much for it to soak into the ground, so there's been quite a bit of flooding. One day, the place where I work got 5" in a matter of a few hours. They are still fixing the damage that caused.
My aunt at the coast has decided to move to Florida, to be closer to two of her children. Her house really is too big for one person; shoot, it was too big for two people, but now that my uncle is dead, she has no reason to stay there. Although, it was great for hosting the kids and grandkids. It had 5 bedrooms plus a mother-in-law apartment. Add in the couches and air mattresses for the kids, and much of the family stayed in her house for my uncle's funeral.

Steampunk and other matters
ConTemporal was just over a week ago. I only dressed up one day and I only have one picture of me. Sigh.
I have no idea what to say
Really. Okay, there's some stuff about my car's AC dying on Saturday. I thought it was a little screwy but didn't realize it was completely out until Sunday. By the way, at ~12:30 pm, when it's sunny and the high is hovering around 100F, you really can sweat in an embarrassing fashion. I had an ice pack at my back, but my legs sweated heavily. I'll let your imagination fill in the rest.
What else? I'm still playing in the Stargate: 1889 game. I still need to research 19th century technology and Edison's family.
The two Spirit of the Century games at Con-Temporal went well. And apparently, the Friday Pathfinder Society game, We Be Goblins, went well enough that one of the players was still talking about it on Sunday.
