FE had their 20th Anniversary sale yesterday. I spent too much money. What a shock. I got a neato navy Battle of the Planets t-shirt for $5 and some old gaming books. I also picked up a couple manga to try.

Since a migraine woke me at 6 am, I took a nap after we got back home (we also stopped to buy candy for Wednesday). I woke to watch the end of Thirteenth Warrior. Then we watched Heartbreak Ridge but I went to bed soon after we started watching Midsummer Night's Dream.

books: I read the 7th volume of Her Majesty's Dog.

Donating platelets tomorrow. Whee!

tatting: almost halfway done now, I'm on the 20-something teardrop bead.

clothes: yesterday I wore my brown Hal-O-Scream shirt, jeans & white sneakers. I was going to wear brown loafers but my socks were too thick. Today (Autumn has finally arrived), black ankle shoe/boots (that I need to take to be re-soled, I want to do that on the way home), black jeans, burgundy knit shirt, heavy grey long-sleeved knit shirt, & Celtic knotwork jewelry.

Lack of posts: I had a problem with my blog & I wasn't able to post the past few days. There's a little bit of catch up as a result (I may have to break it up into multiple posts).

Movies: We went to see Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer on Sunday. I wish we'd waited until it hit the $1.50 theater. It wasn't a bad movie, it was just 'eh'. Once again, they tried to cram too much into it. It was a drama movie with superheroes, not a superhero movie.

weather: spotty thunderstorms. So muggy this morning ( before 8 am) that when I got off the bus, my glasses fogged up. I had one thin strip of clear vision on the right lens.

Sight of the day: Two African-American friends greeting each other - one man says to the other, 'Give me that Negro hug' and they do the male hug (clasp hands, hug & pound twice on the other guy's back). After they hugged, the other guy shook his head & laughed, "Same old Keith*" and they both laughed. *not his real name.

books: Resurrection Man, vol 1 MeruPuri, vol 1 Venus versus Virus, vol 1 Me and My Brothers, vol 6 Her Majesty's Dog, vol 4 Satisfaction Guaranteed, vol 6 Versus V2, Dragon Heat, re-read Silver Lining & [fill in later].

letters: New cards (pink flowers & organza bows); pack of 8. Finished letters to my Dad's sisters & both great-aunts.

clothes: blood donation t-shirts Saturday & Sunday with blue jeans & navy loafers. Monday black jeans with white cotton gauze blouse (very 70's peasant, with drawstring at neck & sleeves, & elastic ~waist) embroidered with pastel flowers around the shoulders & front, plus ~slippers, & moonstone jewelry. Hair worn down & loose until too hot, then up in a ponytail/bun.

Today: black gauze blouse embroidered with silver & sequins; stripe/floral/print gauze skirt in black, purple, grey, burgundy & teal; ~slippers, black stone ring, flower band, hematite ring, silver hash mark ring, tatted necklace & earrings. My hair is up in a ponytail for lack of anything better.

Bookcrossing:I may finally have had a book picked up. At least, I released one at lunch & when I checked back after work, it was gone. It hasn't been journalled yet but I have my fingers crossed.

books: Tail of the Moon vol 5, Her Majesty's Dog vol 5, Ouran High School Host Club vol 7 & 8. I also read a little of Thrift Score. I got that latter as a freebie from the Bulls Head. I am definitely giving to my mother as soon as I finish it.

tatting: I finally made got that new thread added, plus one more repeat. The edging is now more than a foot long.

tv: I finally noticed the extras on the Thin Man dvd. I watched part of one short & a cartoon. I need to go back to the other DVDs & see what their extras are. Then we watched two episodes of the Wild, Wild West.

writing: I did a little more fiddling on my story. No big changes but I've moved a couple things around.

blog of the day: Thrift Shop Project, now here's someone I can relate to.

clothes: black 'slippers', black jeans & belt (gold tone buckle), brown/black Vorkosigan polo, gold amber drop earrings, shades of amber (gold, brown, yellow & green) bracelet, 2 gold amber rings (1 sphere & 1 ~poison ring), 3 ages of women pendant on long chain, braided hair held by a brown elastic, hematite ring & ladybug clip watch (the latter two as usual).
